With over 130 peer-reviewed publications, his groundbreaking work in climate change, global ecosystems, and food security has positioned him among the top 1% of cited global scientists. An engaging communicator, Jon's insights have graced platforms like TED.com, National Geographic, and the New York Times. His accolades include the Presidential Early Career Award by President Clinton and the esteemed Heinz Award for the Environment. Prior to spearheading Project Drawdown, he founded the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE) at the University of Wisconsin and later became the Executive Dir​​​ector of the globally recognized California Academy of Sciences.
