He is in his seventh year as Mayor of Burnaby, re-elected to a second term in 2022. Before serving as mayor, he was a Burnaby firefighter. He served as President of the Burnaby Fire Fighters Association and as President of the BC Professional Fire Fighters Association. In recognition of his service to the community, he received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002, the Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, and the Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022.</p></div>
