With more than a decade background in sustainable and zero-carbon development, she is an expert in embodied carbon design, policy development, and life cycle assessment (LCA).</p><p>Before her return to the City in 2023, Zahra was a Senior Advisor at Mantle Developments and a Research Manager at both the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Zero Emissions Building Exchange (ZEBx).</p><p>Zahra holds a master's degree in Advanced Studies in Architecture from UBC. She has led and contributed to numerous industry and peer-reviewed publications, spanning diverse topics like zero and low-carbon buildings, policy strategies for low embodied carbon development, advances in mass-timber construction, and the application of circular economy principles.</p><p>​Zahra is an active participant in professional circles, regularly presenting at events and conferences and volunteers for industry advocacy groups, including Carbon Leadership Forum of British Columbia (CLF BC).​<br></p></div>, Zahra Teshnizi
